I don’t understand the whole moonfruit thing. Please explain. Or I’ll teach K how to kick you in the moonfruits. It’ll be a cool uncle/nephew bonding thing.
So, moonfruit is a web design company or something, I don’t really know as that part wasn’t important. They were giving away a computer a day for everyone that added #moonfruit to their twitter posts.
So, people started adding the tag with the hopes of getting a free computer. Since they were making up stuff to write with #moonfruit in it, I thought it would be fun to replace part of a quote from a movie instead. After a few hours or so, several people were doing it and then lots were.
Basically, we subverted someone else’s marketing campaign for a fun game that occupied our attention for a day or so.
