Funny noises in my head,
I got a code in my doze,
Oh, I got a code in my doze. #
On Monday, we had a fire in the valley that filled the air with lovely particulates and ash.
Now, fires are scary, dangerous things, but they can add a bit of beauty to the world as well.
Here are a few photos of the setting sun that take advantage of these bits in the air for some really spectacular images.
… and one ‘cheese’-y one as well.
As this is the beginning of my Douglas Adams Year, I have been reworking my web site. Unfortunately, it isn’t working out like I planned yet but I have high hopes that the greater minds than mine can figure it out.
I think I’ll start on HHGTTG tonight, in celebration.
Yesterday, we had a fire spark up at the south end of the Salt Lake Valley, down in Corner Canyon.
Years ago, I used to ride motorcycles there, now it is new subdivisions and McMansions.
When I went for a short ride earlier to replenish my supply of diet soda, I noticed that it felt like I was riding in a sand storm. I didn’t wear my helmet, but there wasn’t much wind or anything that would feel like that.
Except for ash particulates. There is still a bit of a haze in the air and I’m certain the micro-stinging was those same bits hittting my face at 30 miles per hour.
Still, I need my soda and it was well worth it for the dermal scrubbing.
Here is another shot of the smoke,
taken from the same location but a bit closer to the road so that you can see the mountain behind the smoke.
